A. Scope of this Protection Plan
This Protection Plan is separate from, and does not extend the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty. This Protection Plan will take effect only after the OEM warranty expires. However, BG Products, Inc. will pay the deductible amount paid by you under any extended service contract purchased by you which covers such a claim. It is subject to the terms and conditions contained herein.

BG Products, Inc., through its Authorized Claims Administrator, agrees to repair or replace parts of the:

  • Automatic Transmission listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Automatic Transmission Service and BG 106 and BG 310; or for smaller capacity automatic transmissions, BG 106 and BG 306.
  • Drive Line Front Differential listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Front Differential Drive Line Service and BG 750, or BG 752.
  • Drive Line Rear Differential listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Rear Differential Drive Line Service and BG 750, or BG 752.
  • Drive Line Transfer Case listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Transfer Case Drive Line Service and BG 750, or BG 792.
  • Drive Line Manual Transmission/Transaxle listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Manual Transmission/Transaxle Drive Line Service and BG 750, or BG 792.
  • Power Steering System listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Power Steering Service and BG 108 and BG 332, or BG 108 and BG 334.
  • Cooling System listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Cooling System Service and BG 540 and BG 546.
  • Engine & Fuel (gasoline) listed herein that has been serviced by the use of BG 110 and BG 203, or BG 110 and BG 208 when engine oil and oil filter are changed.
  • Engine (gasoline) listed herein that has been serviced by the use of BG 110 when engine oil and oil filter are changed.
  • Engine (diesel) must use BG 112 in up to 6 quart capacity crankcases or BG 11232 in crankcases over 6 quart capacity.
  • Brake System listed herein that have been serviced by the BG Brake Fluid Service and BG Brake Fluid. All BG products must be used per product instructions.

B. Terms, Duration and Extension of this Protection Plan

This Protection Plan is subject to the terms and conditions contained herein:
PLAN 1 (0-36,000 miles / 0-60,000 km initial service):
The initial service(s) must have been performed within 36,000 miles/60,000 km, as shown on the odometer.
PLAN 2 (36,001-75,000 miles / 60,001-120,000 km initial service):
The initial service(s) must have been performed within 36,001 miles/60,001 km and 75,000 miles/120,000 km, as shown on the odometer. This Protection Plan will take effect 500 miles/800 km after the first BG Service(s) has been performed by a professional technician.

This Protection Plan for Automatic Transmissions, Front Differentials, Rear Differentials, Transfer Cases, Manual Transmissions, Transaxles, Power Steering, Brake and/or Cooling System will be continued by the performance of the proper BG Service within 30,000 miles/50,000 km of the previous service. One payable claim per service interval is permitted.

This Protection Plan for Engine (gasoline and diesel) and Engine and Fuel (gasoline) will be continued by the performance of the BG Service within 5,000 miles/8,000 km of the previous service. From the date of your Protection Plan enrollment, the vehicle’s engine must be serviced only with the proper grade and weight of engine oil, recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Timing belt and air and oil filter must be replaced and emission control system maintained in accordance with vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.

All services referred to in Section A must be performed by a licensed professional service center. You may not change your own oil In the event of a claim, you must provide BG Products, Inc., with satisfactory evidence, according to Section E, that all of the required services referred to in Section A were performed.

A professional technician must perform an approved BG maintenance procedure using proper BG products and equipment. A grace period of 500 miles/800 km will be extended in order to stay within service interval compliance, including initial service.

C. Covered

Payment of claims under this Protection Plan is limited to the labor time necessary to make repairs or to replace any irreparably damaged parts as allocated by Motor or Mitchell Flat Rate Guide or other industry accepted flat rate guide, multiplied by the commercial repair shop’s posted hourly labor rate, plus the reasonable cost of replaced parts of like kind and quality at the administrator’s discretion.

This BG Protection Plan covers only the lubricated parts contained within:

  • Automatic Transmission: Covers the transmission housing or case only when damaged by an internally lubricated part covered under this Protection Plan. Items not covered are leaking transmission seals and gaskets; electrical components, such as solenoids. Proper fluids meeting vehicle manufacturer’s specifications must be used.
  • Drive Line Front Differential: Covers only the lubricated parts contained within the front differential housing or case. Items not covered are the front differential housing or case, pre-packed axle bearing(s), U-joint(s), CV joint(s) and boot(s) unless damaged due to failure of covered part.
  • Drive Line Rear Differential: Covers only the lubricated parts contained within the rear differential housing or case. Items not covered are the rear differential housing or case, axle(s), pre-packed axle bearing(s), U-joints(s) and CV joint(s) unless damaged due to failure of covered part.
  • Drive Line Transfer Case: Covers only the lubricated parts contained within the transfer case. Items not covered are the housing or case, U-joint(s), CV joint(s) and driveshaft(s) unless damaged due to failure of covered part.
  • Drive Line Manual Transmission/Transaxle: Covers only the lubricated parts contained within the transmission case. Items not covered are the case, flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, U-joint(s), CV joint(s) and driveshaft(s) unless damaged due to failure of covered parts.
  • Power Steering System: Covers only the power steering gear box or rack and power steering pump. Items not covered are hoses, belts, brackets, seals and leaking gaskets.
  • Cooling System Covers only the heater core, water pump, freeze plugs, and radiator. Items not covered are hoses, clamps, thermostats and engine components.
  • Brake System: Covers only the pump, valves, master cylinder, calipers, and metalized hoses. Items not covered are pads, rotors, shoes, ABS sensors, controller or other electrical parts.
  • Engine (gasoline and diesel):
    Pistons and Rings
    Cam Shafts and Bearings
    Turbo Bearings
    Valve Lifters
    Oil Pump
    Wrist Pins and Bushings
    Push Rods
    Crankshaft and Bearings
    Timing Chains*
    Timing Gears or Sprockets
    Rods and Rod Bearings
    Intake Valves and Guides**
    Cylinder Liners or Bores
    Rocker Arms and Pivots
    Distributor Drive Gear
  • Engine (gasoline and diesel):
    Oxygen Sensors
    Injectors (Deposit-related malfunctions only)
    PCV

* Timing belts and damage to engine parts due to broken timing belts excluded.
** Grinding adjustments excluded.

D. Conditions and Exclusions of this Protection Plan

If the vehicle odometer has been changed or altered, or if odometer has ceased to function, coverage under the terms of this Protection Plan are not in effect. This Protection Plan covers only legally registered passenger cars, vans, SUVs and pick-up trucks with a GVW of 9,500 pounds/4,300 kg or less. Motorcycles, RVs, and vehicles with more than two axles are excluded. Vehicles used for competitive purposes are excluded. This service excludes in-house maintenance/repair facilities. In the case of a leased vehicle, the lessee must be primarily obligated for repairs and maintenance. If covered vehicle is used for towing a trailer or other vehicle or object, this Protection Plan is not in effect unless covered vehicle is equipped with factory-installed tow package. Vehicles equipped with Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT) are excluded from transmission coverage. Any claim resulting from collision, fire, theft, vandalism, contamination of fluids, acts of God, misuse, abuse, negligence, damage caused by operation during component failure, lack of normal maintenance required by vehicle manufacturer renders this Protection Plan null and void. Pre-existing conditions, damage to system components prior to the service are excluded and may be verified through independent parts analysis at the discretion of BG Products, Inc. Also, excluded are “Washed”, “Branded”, Salvage or Junk titled vehicles. To keep this Protection Plan in effect you must keep all receipts and repair orders for maintenance and services required by this Protection Plan. Failure to furnish all necessary records will render this Protection Plan null and void.

E. Claims and Repair Procedures

In the event of a claim, you must notify BG Products Claims Administrator, c/o Dealers Alliance Corporation, prior to having any repairs made by calling 1-800-848-1660.

You must provide the designated claims administrator with information from all of the following:

  1. All service repair orders as of July 1, 2004, including all applicable BG Part Numbers stated in Section “A,” showing compliance with the terms and conditions of this Protection Plan for each component covered in Automatic Transmission, Front Differential, Rear Differential, Transfer Case, Manual Transmission/Transaxle, Power Steering, Cooling System, Brake System, Engine, Engine and Fuel.
  2. If necessary, all service repair orders showing compliance with the terms and conditions of previous protection plans or service warranties, (excluding OEM extended warranties) and proof of previous plan.
  3. Lease agreement if vehicle is leased.
  4. A complete statement of damage and estimated repair costs.

If required, you must ship the damaged parts, as well as a representative pint sample of vehicle fluid involved with the damaged parts, to:

F. BG Protection Plan Reimbursement Terms in U.S. Currency

This Protection Plan is separate from, and does not extend the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty. This Protection Plan will take effect only after the OEM warranty expires. Plan 1 (0-36,000 miles / 0-60,000 km initial service):

Engine or Engine & Fuel shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Automatic Transmission shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Front Differential shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Rear Differential shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Transfer Case shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Manual Transmission shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Manual Transaxle shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Power Steering shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Cooling System shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).
Brake System shall not exceed $4,000 (four thousand).

Plan 2 (36,001–75,000 miles/ 60,001–120,000 km initial service):

Engine or Engine & Fuel shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Automatic Transmission shall not exceed $1,000 (one thousand).
Front Differential shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Rear Differential shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Transfer Case shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Manual Transmission shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Manual Transaxle shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Power Steering shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Cooling System shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).
Brake System shall not exceed $2,000 (two thousand).

This Protection Plan is transferable if vehicle ownership changes. BG Products, Inc., is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages. It will apply only to authorized repairs made for vehicles operated in the United States of America, Puerto Rico or Canada. This document may not be modified.

I had an unexpected issue with my car yesterday, after driving for a medical appt. from 2.5 hours away. I pulled into the shop driveway with no idea what was going on and cringing at what the repair could cost and would I be stranded here for days. Carlos and Sue, were quick to find a way to fit me in. Carlos test drove my car and then, explained exactly what would need to be done step by step to diagnose and fix the issue. I was out of there with the problem solved and they even gave my car a once over and sent me a report of items that mat need attention in the near future. I left feeling relieved and satisfied 100%. Sils auto is a gem for Mississauga. Honest, caring, and accommodating. Thanks Guys for getting me in/out and back out of the city so promptly.

I found Sil's during a quick Google search for a local shop. On the road, away from home, and having some steering issues with my truck, I needed some quick help. I was extremely lucky to find a shop that was willing get my truck on a hoist and have a quick look. Fortunately it was a quieter day at Sil's, a lull in the storm before tire change season. Tommy and Susan were great in the front office. Very professional, modern setup that says they take this work seriously. They assigned Corey to help have a look. After a test drive and a thorough look while on the hoist Corey give me a rundown of possible causes (it's an old truck, there's always many possibilities). I walked away knowing much more about the condition of my truck and what I should be aware of for the future. Many thinks to Corey for his attention to detail and candor. Much appreciated. Cost of the assessment was very fair, I was given excellent documentation to help my decision making. Sil's isn't exactly convenient for me location wise, but I have to say I'd seriously consider going out of my way so Corey and the team could do the job. Many thanks. David

They let me know what needs to be done, what will need to be done, and what was still in good order. Sent me pictures of what they were doing. My car was cleaned on the inside, which was a bonus. Price wise, they were fair... no hidden surprises. I will be going to Sil's Auto Care for all of my car needs. I would rate 10/10.
